Hearing Aid Types :Digital or Analogue ??

Digital

What does this mean to you? Well, through increasingly advanced computer chips inside the hearing aid, the sound that comes out of the aid to your ears is the most accurately reproduced sound possible. It is the same principle that has made CDs, Mobile Phones and Digital T.V. so sharp, clear and distortion free.

There are various catagories of digital hearing aids. Generally speaking the number of channels available determine the ability of the hearing system to create the next best thing to normal hearing. For example, an intelligent aid can detect the unique sound pattern of speech and amplify it while reducing background noise. Continuously self adjusting so automatically providing the best possible hearing in any situation.

digital hearing UK Ltd carries practically all the major manufacturers digital products at tremendous savings. Regularly we are half the price of our competitors.

ALL IN THE EAR high quality range starts from only £495

Programmable

A flexible hybrid which can be programmed to exactly fit an individual hearing loss and can be modified at a later time. (Sometimes described as digitally programmed, not to be confused as digital hearing aids).

Programmable gives the ability of much more precise fine tuning provided by your Hearing Aid Audiologist. Whereas analogue hearing aids have the adjusters built onto the hearing aid, programmable enables us to fine tune using a computer. Although this technology is far more advanced, it is still analogue though more flexible and gives improved performance.

Another of its strengths is that it can be programmed to prevent loud sounds being uncomfortable and annoying while still allowing soft sounds to be heard.

Our digital hearing aids start at a very low price, to avoid confusion digital hearing UK only prescribes 100% digital hearing systems.

However if you requested the supply of a specific make or model of hearing aid, which was not digital, we can obtain this for you.

Analogue

This type of sound processing has been used by hearing aid manufacturers over many years now. The biggest drawback of basic analogue processing is it's sound amplified is over the full frequency range of hearing, so low frequency (background noise) would 'mask' over the high frequency (speech) sounds.

An analogue hearing aid can be prescription built to an individual hearing requirement by the use of tone adjusters helping to reduce background noises.

Advances in technology producing 100% digital hearing aids at a very low price have now made analogue technology obsolete at digital hearing UK Ltd.
